Oh man, do I love Etsy!

I have to say that out of the 14 or so web shops I have up, I still do about 80% of my sales on Etsy.

I'm hoping that some of the other and newer sites that have been springing up as of late will eventually prove to be as motivating.

I'm new to mycraft and I have to say it's quite fun.

I'm a jewelry designer focusing primarily on making hand sculpted polymer clay jewelry.

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but i thought i would share some news stories done on myself and my art. 

I do this to hopefully provide some inspiration to those of you who may be newer to the whole handcrafted online movement or who may be struggling with balancing business and family life.

Just thought I'd say good day to all my etsy co-workers...and let you know that I'm in the same boat.  Hopefully it's not sinking.  I have 15 very little shops on etsy and some of them have not had a sale yet...after almost a year.  I really like etsy,  they seem to have most of the snags worked out, and I think they are out where they need to be to expose the artisans.  But with the bad economy what can one expect...every business is really having problems with low sales volumn right now. 

So...low sales or no sales...I think I can afford to ride this storm out.  I'll just play around on my internet shops, and hopefully things will be better later....

It seems very quiet on etsy!! I don't seem to be getting much activity from the yart sale. Is anyone else doing fine with it??? I've added several items and tagged them and all, but not much activity. Items are being added constantly - about 4 or 5 every minute or two, so that when I do add anything it is moved very quickly to one of the back pages - you know like, whoops, page three already, then before I know it its on page 43 already!!! :(  Maybe it would help a little if a person was only allowed to add ONE item per day. The idea is to get others to check out your shop and hopefully buy something, right! So why add item, after item, after item from your shop???

Anyway, I've added a couple new items this morning and this evening, and here they are for you to see. Tomorrow I hope to add the neklace made with a NY state dog license tag - can hardly wait, but wanted to save it for Friday (don't know why).  Enjoy - and hope you all are having a great day! :) Donna
